Tammy LaMay
I discovered my love for paint and color during
my high school years as a young art student.
After high school, I attended Baker College
in Flint, Michigan, where I obtained
an Associate Degree in Interior Design in 1990.
While attending college, I discovered the art of faux finishing. This being an artform utilizing paint and color, I started perfecting my skills and began to build a business. By combining my design and faux finish skills, this was an absolute success.
During the beginning of 2000, T & C Decorative Painting was established. I now fully enjoy sharing my knowledge of the many tricks of the trade along with teaching my faux finish skills to others. Through the use of color, paint, glazes, and stencils; I have taught my students to create beauty in their homes and for business as well.
In the Month of May 2003, I spent 5 days at TC Moulding in Troy, MI, learning the skills of custom picture framing. What a wonderful experience! I discovered that picture framing was Interior Design in a small scale. I absolutely love to frame. I have had the pleasure of creating many personal items for my customers. I have taken my knowledge of art, design and color and applied it to a whole new creative element of T & C Decorative Painting.
Presently, I spend the majority of my time in the store teaching, color coordinating, framing, custom finishing and painting furniture. 2006 holds many new changes for T & C, so make sure you visit again soon. The store just keeps on growing with creative energy and ideas.
